Stainless steel grade 465 is a premium, Vacuum Induction Melted and Vacuum Arc Remelted steel capable of very high tensile strength, fracture toughness and resistance to stress corrosion cracking. Supplied in the solution annealed condition, it has improved machinability characteristics compared to similar alloys

Heat Treatment of Custom 465
Solution Treatment : 1800 °F ± 25 (982 °C ± 14), holding 60 minutes (± 15) + quenching in oil or water Then cooling to -100 °F (-73 °C) or colder, holding at that temperature for not less than eight hours, and warming in air to room temperature.
H950 : 950°F ± 10 (510°C ± 6), holding 4 hours (± 0.3) + air/oil/water quench
H1000 : 1000°F ± 10 (538°C ± 6), holding 4 hours (± 0.3) + air/oil/water quench
